Suleiman El Gran Sultan
Suleiman El Gran Sultan is a mega drama from Turkey whose original title is Muhtesem Yuzyil. The series was a huge success almost in all countries that aired it. The series is divided into several seasons.The story begins with the ambition of the young King Suleiman to establish a stronger Caliphate than Alexander the Great (Western mythology) ever did. Together with his friend he finally made a great conquest almost to all the world civilization at that time. Pargali Ibrahim was his friend whom King Suleiman called friends, relatives and counselors.
Furthermore, his story emphasizes more on the relationships between members of the empire. In this case it is about the rivalry and romance of love of the King. The story becomes interesting when present figure Hurrem Sultan/Aleksandra (Meryem Urzeli). The possibility of this figure is a shadow of the original character named Roxalena.
Synopsis of Suleiman El Gran Sultan
The story begins with a war in which King Suleiman conquered Ukraine. It was there that Aleksandra (Meryem Urzeli) was caught. She is a son of a priest. In the arrest - Dad, Mom, and sister - all killed. Only her fiancée could escape from the arrest. Eventually he and her close friend (Maria) were taken to Turkey.Arriving at the King Suleiman Palace, Aleksandra knew if he became the best hatun he could seize the position of sultanah. In addition, he should be able to give a son to King Suleiman. By doing it all, he can rule the world.
The story is interesting because here began a dispute between Aleksandra (Hurrem) with the first wife, namely Mahidevran (Nur Fettahoğlu). The arrival of Aleksandra sparked Mahidevran's jealousy. Until one day, Aleksandra was struck by him. After knowing the truth, King Suleiman was furious.
The story goes on. Aleksandra was pregnant. Pregnancy news is immediately greeted with a party. Here too was a scene where Aleksandra got sick. Apparently Mahidevran gave a poison to Aleksandra's food. Luckily, he can still be saved. This incident made King Suleiman add dislike to his first wife.
Meanwhile, on the mainland Europe there was a fierce battle. Conquest is underway at Balgrade, Hungary. Victoria's husband was killed. (This story is inspired by a true story.) He himself went to Constatin opel for revenge (hereinafter known as Sadika).
In the next pregnancy, Aleksandra conceived a daughter. The birth of a princess, named Mihrimah Sultan (Pelin Karahan), is also celebrated with a party. At the time of this party there was also a commotion. One of the haves, Ayse, quarreled with Aleksandra. Ayse plans to commit murder.
King Suleiman's story became very interesting when Ayse died. Sadika kills Ayse because Ayse caught over something he did. Continue story, for all the investigation that it was Aleksandra who became the defendant. The King-punished him by sending him to the Old Palace.
The story of season I ends with the arrival of Leo (fiancé of Aleksandra) who was eventually known by Ibrahim Pasha, a good friend of the Sultan. Ibrahim Pasha asks Aleksandra to kill Leo by giving him poison or, if he does not do so, Ibrahim unlocks the secret of the relationship between Aleksandra and Leo (who is disguised as an art expert).
At the end of season I, Sadika (Victoria, from Hungary) accompanies Sultan Suleiman on a tent. At that time, Victoria intends to do his plan for revenge. And the knife has threatened the Sultan's neck ...
