Synopsis El Chema

The series reinvents the life of the drug trafficker, Joaquin Guzman Loera "El Chapo", although it takes fictive elements for the development of the character of El Chema.

El Chema tells the story of how Chema Venegas (Mauricio Ochmann) began in organized crime and went up the ranks to become the head of the poster he directs in the series El señor de los cielos. El Chema began to break the law at an early age, transporting marijuana across the US-Mexican border as a child.

Little by little, he worked way up to becoming a successful and skillful leader, gaining his place through bloodshed and brutality, in the history of drug trafficking. Since he was a young man, El Chema has been one of the most important public enemies of both the United States and Mexico.
