Synopsis The Bureau
The Bureau (Le Bureau des légendes) is a French television series created by Éric Rochant and broadcast on April 27, 2015 on Canal +. Within the Directorate General of External Security (DGSE), a department called the Bureau des Légendes (BDL) trains and directs the "clandestines", the most important agents of the French foreign intelligence services. When immersed in foreign countries, their mission is to identify potential recruits as sources of information. Working in the dark, "under legend", that is to say under an identity fabricated from scratch, they live long years in a permanent dissimulation.
Guillaume Debailly returns from a six-year clandestine mission to Syria, but contrary to security rules, he does not seem to have abandoned his legend and the identity under which he lived in Damascus ...
The plot is presented as the most realistic possible, the authors having encountered spies for their inspiration. For example, the restaurant test at the beginning of the first season is a fundamental part of training for intelligence officers. Some details, however, seem impossible (the duration of missions, the "cloud" of telephone calls ...)
